To drive a car when conditions are good is easy. Anybody can drive a car then. In a driving school you will learn the basics about car driving and traffic behaviour - what you need to get going, understand traffic signs and avoid making the general mistakes. But what about if everything suddenly changes, and you find yourself in a mad-house with snow, ice, heavy rain, a car starting to slide, and on top of that - other drivers in the same situation? That means that you are in serious danger!
The only way to be able to handle a situation like this is to learn how to face the problems and how to handle your car. How to use the laws of physics and the systems of a modern car in order to avoid a crash. This is what SIS Driving Training is teaching car drivers of all ages and categories. Whether you drive a Ferrari or a Xiali – you will sooner or later face the same situations. The price of the car can’t change that.

What SIS does is basically to put the participant in these terrible situations that you pray will never happen, but in a training course. Then you will learn from our excellent instructors how to react and how to behave, in order to save the situation and maybe also your life! We have based the training courses on the exercises we have used during 15 years of training test drivers for the car industry.

That is really makes a difference is proved by, for instance, the 200 drivers working for Audi and Volkswagen in north Sweden. They drive over 4 million kilometres every year without a major accident. These test drivers push the cars and systems to the limit. And since they have practiced how to handle difficult situations, they can manage to control the car and also avoid accidents with other vehicles – whose drivers might not have this knowledge. This is extremely imporant since the test drivers in Sweden do nearly all their driving on public roads during winter conditions….

When we have a basic-course, participants drive different practice, like emergency braking, avoiding obstacles, over and understearing, fast lane-change, etc. The trainee always drives 2-3 test runs where the instructor points to obvious problems and helps the trainee to get rid of bad habits. After that, the trainee drives 4 turns where we give them a grade in each practice. We also want see how they react under stress and therefore we drive throgh the whole track in the end. First, the instructor sits beside and makes notes. Then the instructor follows the trainee for one lap in a car behind. This is to create pressure, and to observe actions in a stressful situation.
Educating test drivers
It is one thing to be a good driver, but if you are working as a test driver- or if you want to become one, you also need to test and evaluate the car you are driving. The whole idea of putting a person in a test car, is for him/her to find out whats not working well, before the vehicle can go into production. This calls for special skills and special training.
A skilled test driver can save enormous money for his employer, by detecting weak points on a pre-production car. On the other hand, a car that is put into production without being thoroughly tested, can become a catastrophe for the manufacturer. As we have realized the need of training test drivers, SIS has developed a special training program for test drivers focusing on the two things mentioned above:
-Advanced driving
-Identification of technical problems
The training program is tailor made for each customer, depending on their specific needs and demands. We rate the participants individually according to the grades used in the Swedish training programs.

Our driving training courses have a duration between 1 – 5 days, and for details and prices please contact us!
